The Application Process

Once the choice is made, the application is much like braces. We will clean the tooth, protect the enamel and bond the jewellery with dental grade adhesive.

How to Care for Your Tooth Gem
To keep your tooth gem looking its best, it’s important to brush gently around the gem and avoid using excessive force. Maintain your usual routine, brushing twice daily and flossing to ensure good oral hygiene. It is best to use a dense soft bristle toothbrush to avoid damage to the tooth gem.
Do not eat or brush your teeth for approximately 2 hours after the application.
If you have any concerns or wish to remove the gem, it can be safely removed by your dental professional.

Will my teeth be damaged?
The process is very similar to a brace application and your teeth will not be damaged. We will clean the tooth, protect the enamel and bond the gem with dental grade adhesive.
How old do you have to be?
The minimum age for Tooth Gem application is 16 years old, with a valid Government issued photo ID
How long will the tooth gem last?
Tooth Gems can last from a few months to a couple of years, it depends on how well you are looking after them.
How do you take the tooth gem off?
The tooth gem can be safely removed by your dentist or hygienist, during a routine scale and polish. You can also wait for it to fall off on its own.
Can you apply a tooth gem on a veneer?
We are afraid not, a tooth gem will not bond properly on a veneer or false teeth. We can only apply them on natural teeth.
What happens if I swallow the gem?
The gem and the bonding are safe to be in your mouth, there are no sharp points, so It will just come out naturally.
